Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To assess efficacy and safety of aripiprazole and risperidone in the treatment of female schizophrenia. METHODS:12 studies meeting the criteria were analyzed by evidence-based medicine method. The difference of efficacy and safety of aripiprazole and risperidone in the treatment of female schizophrenia was evaluated. RESULTS:No significant difference were found in significant rate and effective rate between aripiprazole and risperidone(P0.05). In the field of side effects,especially EPS,weight gain,lactation and menstrual disorders,aripiprazole was significantly lower than risperidone(P0.000 01). CONCLUSION:Both aripiprazole and risperidone are good drugs for female schizophrenia,but different in side effects.
