The paper aimed to develop tactics for predicting hyperproliferative processes of the uterus in women of reproductive age by studying 1002 women with hyperplastic processes of the endometrium and/or myometrium and comparing them with 80 healthy controls without endometrial or myometrial pathology. Using subgroup comparisons of combined conditions involving uterine leiomyoma with adenomyosis and/or endometrial hyperplasia versus isolated leiomyoma, isolated adenomyosis, or isolated endometrial hyperplastic processes, the authors reported that leiomyoma risk could be estimated from a function incorporating obesity, autoimmune thyroiditis, diabetes mellitus, and age. They concluded that risk factors for combined benign proliferative diseases of the endometrium and myometrium included obesity and selected cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and hepatobiliary diseases, and they described more frequent and intense pain and uterine bleeding with anemia in combined forms versus solitary ones.
