Abstract

Objective: To study the changes and their clinical implication of cytokines and antiendometrial antibody with endom-etriosis. Methods:The serum levels of interleukin 6 (1L-6),tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) .soluble interleukin-2 receptor (sIL-2R),antiendometrial antibody (EM Ab) and serum cancer antigen 125 (CA 125) in 75 patients with endometriosis and 30 control members were investigated using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and radio-immunol assay (RIA). We also observed the changes of serum levels of IL-6,TNF-α,sIL-2R and EM Ab in 25 patients treated with opera-tion and Nemestran for 3 months. Results:The serum levels of IL-6,TNF-α,sIL-2R and EM Ab were significantly increased in patients with endometriosis compared with control group (P0.01). There was a positive correlation between EM Ab and IL-6 (γ = 0.674,P0.01).Serum levels of IL-6,TNF-α,sIL-2R and EM Ab in patients were significantly different before and after treatment (P 0.01). Conclusion:Detecting the serum levels of these cytokines and EM Ab may provide experimental basis for the study of pathogenic mechanism, and for the diagnosis and treatment to the patients with endom-etriosis.
