Abstract

Pelvic pain is one of the most common complaints among female adolescent and children who apply to doctors. Although it has many reasons, thorough history and physical examination exclude many reasons of pelvic pain. Pelvic pain can be classified as acute-chronic or gynecologic-non gynecologic. Among the gynecologic causes of pelvic pain, ectopic pregnancy ,ovarian torsion, endometriosis ,pelvic inflammatory disease and ovarian tumours are more important than the other causes in case of morbidity and mortality. Appendicitis, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome and urinary tract infections are the most common non-gynecologic pelvic pain reasons. As a result, precise diagnosis and management of pelvic pain must be done in time since it might be life threatining and result in health and social problems future in life.
