Abstract

Background: Superficial circumflex iliac artery flap (SCIA flap) has become popular for reconstructive lymphedema procedures. However, in obese patients, elevation of this flap is difficult. Methods: In this report, we present a 72-year-old woman with lymphedema who underwent lymphatic system transfer (LYST) procedure. Results: Mapping of superficial perforator was done with FLIR ONE thermal camera. To ensure superficial vein was also harvested, we incorporate vein viewer in our design. Both tools were also use intraoperatively. Conclusions: STBI and vein viewer can be a good combination in design and harvesting SCIA flap for LYST procedure in patient with obesity.
