Collaborative Blended Learning Pedagogy: Creating a Learning Web Community

Online education, nowadays, is gaining prominence, and National Education Policy 2020 too recommends the use of Blended Learning at all levels including Higher Educational Institutions enabling the learners to learn at their own pace. Blended learning is an innovative concept that embraces the advantages of both traditional teachings in the classroom and Information and Communication Technology-supported learning including both offline learning and online learning. The present paper discusses the concept of blended learning, its main features, and the prerequisite of its implementation. During Covid-19, the paradigm shifts from offline learning to online learning and then online learning to Blended learning in the Indian educational system is also discussed. The present paper also tries to explore Blended learning with reference to academic achievement scores, gender, and locale. The sample of the study consists of 100 higher secondary school students through simple random sampling. The researchers used the mean, standard deviation, and t-test for analysing the data. The present study focuses on how a Blended learning classroom provides the learners with opportunities to collaborate, and interact freely, boosts the confidence to speak up in the class to ask questions, to provides autonomy, flexibility, and curiosity thereby, promoting active learning and reducing absenteeism.
