Abstract
Adenomyosis is a disorder characterized by presence of endometrial glands and stroma within the myometrium. It often occurs in young or middle aged women, and the frequency of it is rising now.It has serious clinical symptoms and causes great bad influence on patient's lives. As imaging and minimally invasive diagnostic methods were pursued and developed, various therapeutic options for adenomyosis, including medical therapies, minimally invasive or non-invasive treatments became available, but they need further evaluation and improvement.Hysterectomy is the ultimate solution for women with deep myometrial involvement or if future fertility is not desired.
