Implantation of drug-eluting stent loaded with amiodarone and rapamycin inside target pulmonary vein: a new therapeutic approach for symptomatic atrial fibrillation ？

Atrial fibrillation(AF) is a common clinical finding and associated with a poor outcome, which imposes a major health concern. The management for AF predominantly consists of pharmacotherapy and catheter ablation. Despite medical advances in recent years, treatment remains suboptimal. In the current article, we review and discuss therapies for AF, and elucidate rationale and procedures of a potentially novel treatment option.
