Correlation between Small-Scale Commerce Distribution and Traffic Flow in Macao Historical Districts

Abstract

The places, regions as well as actual distributions of active centers from the year of 2014 to 2020 in Macao peninsula living space were selected in this paper, namely, the representative streets in four active centers (Ruins of St. Paul, Inner Harbor, Lower Ring Region, Horta e Costa Region), and the space syntax was applied to conduct quantitative analysis. Starting from the perspective of daily life for residents, integrating the present traffic network to probe into the structural logics of urban level transportation streamline and the spatial forms of internal streets in four regions, conducting research on the commercial distribution and local level network rule, so as to provide valuable references and index parameters for upgrading Macao historical districts and developing street vitality.
