The change of IL-6、IL-8 in the endometriosis and uterus leiomyoma patients serum at preoperative and postoperative period

Objective By measuring the level change of serum IL 6、IL 8 to consider the etiologic mechanism in the endometriosis and uterus leiomyoma patients at preoperative and postoperative period.Methods We select 30 endometriosis and 31 uterus leiomyoma patients,using sandwich ELISA method,to determine IL 6、IL 8 of the patients serum at preoperative and postoperative time respectively.Results In endometriosis group,there is significant difference in the expression of IL 6、IL 8 of the serum between preoperative and postoperative time(P0.05),whereas in uterus leiomyoma group,the change of IL 6 of the serum is not striking between preoperative and postoperative period(P0.05) and there is significant change of IL 8 of the serum(P0.05).Conclusions The increased IL 6 level at preoperative period in the endometriosis group results from the attack upon humoral and cellular immunifaction by the endometrium which is out of normal position.As a result,plenty of macrophage is activated and relieved and a large amount of IL 6 enters the serum.But at postoperative time,the expression of IL 6 is decreased and the pathological region has been excised,modifying the autoimmunological states.In endometriosis and uterus leiomyoma patients,IL 8 is enhanced at post operative period.It may be because the activated macrophage produces lots of IL 8 at operative site.IL 8 is chemotaxis factor and plays a defence role against inflammation.Maybe uterus leiomyoma has nothing to do with the immunity etiology.
