This system addresses the critical issue of crop damage caused by excessive moisture during sudden rainfall, which can promote the spread of plant diseases, reduce crop quality, and result in substantial financial losses for farmers. Utilizing an Arduino microcontroller as the central processing unit, the system integrates rain detection sensors and soil moisture sensors to monitor environmental conditions in real-time. When rainfall is detected, the motorized shielding mechanism is automatically activated, deploying a protective cover over the crops to prevent moisture damage. Once the rainfall ceases, the shield retracts, allowing normal agricultural activities to resume seamlessly. The inclusion of soil moisture sensors further enhances the system’s functionality by facilitating automated irrigation, optimizing water usage, and promoting better crop growth Agriculture Farmland Landowners Farmers Collaboration Model Full Text Additional Declarations No competing interests reported.
