Expression of ENDO-1(haptoglobin) in the ectopic and eutopic endometrium of women with endometriosis

Objective To detect the expression of the ENDO-1(haptoglobin) in the ectopic andeutopic endometrium of women with endometriosis。Methods A reverse transcription-polymerse reaction(PC-PCR) mothod was utilized to examine Endo-1 mRNA expressions in eutopic and autopic endometrium。Twenty patients with endometriosis were included as study group,and fifteen patients without en-dometriosis selected as control group。Results In 20 matched endometrial and endometriosis specimensExpression(p=1.00) was similar in matched progestational stage endometrium and endometriosis,butendometriotic expression (p=0.004) were significantly greater in secretory 。Eutopic endometrium ofwomen with endometriosis has a higher level of ENDO-1mRNA than women without endometriois(p=0.04)。Conclusions The ENDO-1 mRNA is over expressed in progestational stage endometriosis。Haptoglobin-like ENDO-1 may be associated with localized angiogenesis and altered immune response involved with theaetilogy/pathhphysiology of endometriosis。
