Abstract
The “Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)” is walloping the globe in every aspect and Bangladesh is not an exception. Its effect on the Criminal Justice System (CJS) of Bangladesh is also overwhelming. There are impediments caused by the disease, measures to overcome the hindrances, yet something more to do to minimize the overall threat of COVID-19 to ensure effective delivery of justice. This paper explains the notion of COVID-19 Pandemic, its scenario from March 2020 to June 2021 in Bangladesh, adumbrates the CJS of Bangladesh, cogitates on the impediments to the CJS of Bangladesh caused by the pandemic, shows the measures taken to depress the virus, and thus evaluate the impact of COVID-19 in the CJS of Bangladesh along with some suggestions.
