Experience of Ultrasonic Diagnosis in 100 cases of Adenomyosis

Objective: To discuss the clinical value of ultrasonic diagnosis in the cases of adenomyosis. Methods: 100 cases of adenomyosis that were finally proved by pathological testing after surgical operation were selected and retrospectively analysised the characteristics of 2-D image and color Doppler flow imaging of the cases. Results: In the group of 100 cases that were selected, 98 cases were diagnosed as adenomyosis, making up a coincidence rate of 98.0%. 2 cases of localized adenomyosis were misdiagnosed as uterine myoma. 72 cases merging chocolate cyst of ovary were diagnosed by ultrasonic testing, while 8 cases were missed, making up a diagnostic rate of 90.0%. 38 cases merging uterine myoma were all diagnosed. Conclusion: Since the precision could be quite high, ultrasonic testing would provide much of important reference for the clinical diagnosis and treatment in the cases of adenomyosis.
