Abstract
This study delves into the profound influence of digital marketing on startups and small businesses, employing a methodology centered around multiple case studies to extract comprehensive insights. It seeks to fill a significant void in existing literature by concentrating on the distinctive challenges and opportunities confronted by smaller entities in the swiftly evolving digital landscape. Through an iterative case selection process that involved three retail startups and four small-scale businesses, the research identifies crucial antecedents and consequences crucial for formulating effective digital marketing strategies. The data collection process involved semi-structured, in-depth interviews with senior management or founders of the chosen companies, utilizing a comprehensive discussion guide. These interviews were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using advanced data mining and visualization software, NVIVO. Key findings underscore the transformative impact of digital marketing in facilitating precise audience targeting at minimal cost, emphasizing the strategic integration of cost efficiency and audience precision. The study emphasizes the significance of aligning digital platform choices with specific business objectives and strategically targeting early adopters to expedite innovation diffusion.
