Abstract
This paper presents a general analytical subdomain model for the computation of magnetic field distribution in any number of stator slots and rotor poles in presence of only permanent magnet (PM) and excitation (2-layer) for flux switching permanent magnet machines (FSPMMs) with outer and inner rotor. The target of this work is to elaborate an analytical general method based on subdomain model for prediction of magnetic field, cogging torque, electromagnetic torque and inductance (mutual and self) by solving Maxwell law. To evaluate subdomain model, the effect of saturation is neglected due to considering infinite permeability for cores. The presented general subdomain method is comparable to finite element method (FEM) where the mesh elements can be compared to the number of harmonic terms used in each subdomain. To validate, the proposed model results are compared with those obtained from FEM.
