Effects of Peritoneal Fluid from Endometriosis on the Proliferation and Migration of human endothelial ECV-304 Cells

Objective To investigate the effects of peritoneal fluid from endometriosis patients on theproliferation and migration of human umbilical vein endothelial ECV-304 cells and to give experimental evidence forendometriosis treatment. Methods Human ECV-304 cells were cultured and incubated with peritoneal fluid fromendometriosis patients. Cell proliferation and migration was separately evaluated by MTT assay and wound healing assay.Results The result of MTT assay indicated that peritoneal fluid from endometriosis patients could significantly increasethe proliferation of ECV-304 cells (P0.05). The wound healing assay showed significant migration of ECV-304 cellsinduced by peritoneal fluid(P0.05). Conclusions The peritoneal fluid from endometriosis patients could significantlyincrease the proliferation and migration of ECV-304 cells. ECV-304 cells treated with peritoneal fluid may be used as acell model of drug screening for endometriosis treatment.
