Value of laparoscopy in diagnosis and treatment of chronic pelvic pain

Abstract

Objective:To assess the value of laparoscopy in diagnosis and treatment of chronic pelvic pain(CPP).Methods:One hundred and twenty six patients with CPP were examined and treated by laproscopy.Results:Of the 126 cases,58 had endometriosis,36 chronic pelvic inflammatory disease,13 pelvic adhesions,9 pelvic venous congestion syndrome and 7 other diseases;3 cases had no found abnormal under laparoscopy.Conclusions:As the causes of CPP are complicated,it is difficult to make diagnosis.Laparoscopy is capable of defining the causes of most CPP and providing treatment at the same time,and the first choice for diagnosis and treatment of CPP.
