Abstract
Objective To study the expression of livin, survivin and caspase- 3 in endometriosis and its pathogenesis. Methods In situ hybridization was used to assess the content of Livin in normal endometrium(25 cases),ectopic and eutopic endometrial tissues(40 cases).Immunohistochemistry was used to assess the content of survivin and caspase-3 in the same tissues. Results The expression of livin, and survivin was stronger in endometriosis than in the control group, being of statistical significance (P0.05 ),while the expression of caspase- 3 was weaker in endometriosis than in control group, being also of statistical significance(P0.05).There was no significant difference between proliferative and secretory phases in all the three groups(P0.05).Conclusions The pathogenesis of endometriosis might be related to the abnormal expression of livin, survivin and caspase -3.
