Abstract
Objective:To detect CD44v6 and COX-2 expression in endometriotic and eutopic endometrium in women with adenomyosis and normal endometrium and explore investigate the role of them in the pathogenesis of adenomyosis. Methods:Expression of CD44v6 and COX-2 in 30 cases of endometriotic and eutopic endometrium of adenomyosis and 20 cases of normal endometrium with the application of tissue microarray were detected. Results:Expression of CD44v6 in endometriotic was higher than that in eutopic and normal endometrium(P 0.01).The COX-2 expression in endometriotic or eutopic endometrium with adenomyosis was significantly higher than that in normal endometriu(mP 0.01).The expression of CD44v6 in secretory phase was significantly higher than in proliferative phase in normal endometrium and adenomyosi(sP 0.05).No significant changes of COX-2 expression were found throughout the menstrual cycle in adenomyosi(sP 0.05).Conclusion:The overexpression of CD44v6 and COX-2 may correlate with the occurrence and progression of adenomyosis.
