Relationship Between Social Support and Quality of Life of Patients with Endometriosis

Objective To study the relationship between social support and quality of life(QOL) of endometriosis patients,and to provide information for corresponding nursing strategies.Methods A QOL questionnaire and Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS) were used to investigate 120 endometriosis patients(the patients group),and the investigation results were compared with those of a healthy control group(120 healthy women).Results There were significant differences in scores of QOL and social support between the 2 groups(P0.05 for both);scores of social support of endometriosis patients was positively correlated with their QOL score(r=0.635,P0.05).Conclusion Social support was closely related to QOL of endometriosis patients.Social support of patients should be fully utilized to ease their symptoms and improve their QOL.
