Abstract

Endometriosis is considered an exclusive illness of reproductive age. When there are absence of conclusive signs, should be sought with presence of nodules in the fornix of vagina, presence of pain to the uterine movement, retroversion and fixed of uterus, as well as pain of anexial mass provoked by endometriomas. The ideal method for the diagnosis of the endometriosis is the direct viewing of the endometrial wound by laparoscopy, accompanied of histological confirmation. It has been shown the utility of antigen CA-125 to identify patient with infertility associated to severe endometriosis, as well as to the CA 19-9 although is considered of smaller sensibility. It is recommended like diagnostic strategy to exclude other causes of pelvic pain, as the chronic inflammatory pelvic illness, fibroid tumor and cystic of the ovary. It is evident that there is not conclusive diagnostic test not invasive that show the presence of endometriosis.
