The Public Opinion: An Analysis of Citizen’s Perceptions and Attitudes Towards Fiscal Policy

This literature review studies how policymakers and government officials comprehend citizens' fiscal policy views to make decisions that meet constituents' requirements. It also reviews public fiscal policy perceptions and influences in several countries, focusing on Southeast Asia and the Western part. It explores how political ideologies, social backgrounds, and personal experiences with taxation and government services shape fiscal policy views. Communicating and informing citizens about fiscal policies are examines which presents how media, political leaders, and other information sources affect citizens' fiscal policy awareness and attitudes toward taxes, spending, and government debt. Fiscal policy awareness and views toward taxation, expenditure, and government debt are examined. The study clarified fiscal policies and why the government spends more during recessions. Results show that promoting social welfare and improve tax collection is the government ways to control economic policy which affected the citizens, particularly during the COVID-19 epidemic.
