Abstract

The transition from STEM to STEAM and STREAM education, integrating the arts into science, technology, research, engineering, and mathematics, addresses the demand for comprehensive skills. This study identifies significant gaps, including the lack of enactive-ecological perspectives, robust technical foundations for integrating diverse knowledge domains, and the potential of mixed reality technologies in STEAM education. A literature review was conducted to explore these issues, revealing the need for continued research in the STREAM framework (STEM + Research + Arts). Addressing these gaps can enhance STEAM pedagogy, offering a richer educational experience that equips students for a complex global landscape, emphasizing interdisciplinary learning and creativity.
