Abstract
Heavy metal pollutant is a serious problem in environmental pollutions, and it is very difficult to eradicate once the soil is contaminated with heavy metal. As heavy metal adsorption has been proven to occur, the heavy metal’s behavior can be modeled as a transport equation with adsorption. Based on two-dimensional model equations, analytical solutions are obtained for instantaneous and exponential attenuation of concentration injections boundary conditions, by utilizing the method of Laplace transform. The results highlight the significant influence of injection conditions on the peak concentrations. Furthermore, there exists a correlation between retardation factors and heavy metal concentrations, where a decrease in retardation factors leads to an increase in heavy metal concentration.
