Die Rolle von Syndecan-4 in der Pathologie der Endometriose
This study investigated the role of syndecan-4 receptors in endometriosis, hypothesizing a link between their expression and the disease's pathogenesis.

This study investigated the expression levels of Syndecan-4, a transmembrane receptor involved in cell adhesion, within endometrial tissue samples obtained from 106 patients undergoing IVF procedures. Researchers utilized immunohistochemical staining to analyze receptor distribution and intensity in glandular cells, stroma, and luminal epithelium across women with and without histologically confirmed endometriosis. The results demonstrated significantly higher Syndecan-4 expression in both stromal and glandular cells of patients with endometriosis compared to the control group with normal endometrium. These findings indicate that altered Syndecan-4 activity is strongly associated with the pathology of endometriosis, suggesting its potential role in disease mechanisms. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — specifically examining the expression patterns of Syndecan-4 as a pathogenic factor.
