Abstract

Objective To study the expressions and their significance of steroid receptor coactivator-1(SRC-1),ER and PR in eutopic and ectopic endometrium in patients with endometriosis(EMs).Methods Using immunohistochemistry SABC method, the expressions of SRC-1,ER and PR in ectopic and eutopic endometrium of 45 EMs cases, and in 42 normal cases were examined and the gray scale detected by image-analysis system. Results The expression of SRC-1 in eutopic endometrium of EMs was significantly higher than that of ectopic endometrium and the normal control, the difference between them was significant(t=8.210,7.260;P0.05).The expression of SRC-1 in proliferative and secretory phases of eutopic endometrium was significantly higher than that of the homologous-phase ectopic endometrium and the normal control(F=58.641,7.650;q=4.162-12.052;P0.01).The expressions of ER and PR in ectopic endometrium during proliferation were lower than that of concurrent control group and eutopic endometrium(F= 65.08,59.42;q=11.661-14.500;P0.01).The expressions of SRC-1,ER and PR in the control at proliferative phase were significantly higher than that in secretory phase(t=5.909-10.183,P0.01).The differences between the expressions of SRC-1,ER,PR in EMs,and rAFS staging were not significant(t=1.352-1.838,P0.05).In eutopic endometrium, the expressions of SRC-1 and ER were positively correlated(r=0.779,P0.05).ConclusionThe abnormal expressions of SRC-1,ER and PR in ectopic and eutopic endometrium of EMs might be related to pathogenesis and development of EMs.
