TUBAL LIGATION-INDUCED DEPRESSION IN WOMEN AND ITS INFLUENCING FACTORS

Objective To explore the tubal ligaton-induced depression in women and its influencing factors so as to provide the basis for effective intervention.Methods The Self-Rating Deppression scale(SRDS) designed by ZUNG,social support scale,the coping style questionnaire and the Eysenck personality questionnaire(EPQ) were used in 3 days after operation and two years later respectively to survey the conditions of 1301 tubal-ligation women,and the demographic data were also collected.Results 42.7% of the 1301 tubal-ligation women showed some depressive symptoms on 3 rd day postoperatively,and 27.4% of them still had depressive disorder.The multiple factor analyses found the depression tubal-ligation women was closely related to o marital status,lack of boys,monthly income,self-blame and personality.Conclusion The high incidence of depressive symptoms of tubal-ligation women three days or two years after their operations is related to psychological and social factors.
