Endourological treatment of ureteral stenosis after ureteral endometrial endometriosis surgery

[Objective] To investigate the effect of endourological treatment of ureteral stenosis following ureteral endometrial endometriosis surgery.[Methods] From February 2005 to April 2011,eight cases suffered from ureteral endometriosis received gynecological and urological surgery treatment at different times,while ureter obstruction was noted in the follow up.These cases were treated with dilation using fascia dilators,balloon dilatation,cutting with Ho:YAG laser,and one or two JJ stent was indwelled for 2～6 months.[Results] One cases received dilation with fascia dilators,three cases with balloon dilatation,four cases with ureteroscopic Ho:YAG laser cutting,they were all successful.All 8 patients were followed up for 6～27 months,hydronephrosis reduced or disappeared under ultrasonography,and intravenous pyelography showed the target ureter was smooth.[Conclusion] For patients with ureteral stenosis following ureteral endometrial endometriosis surgery,endourological treatment of dilation and cutting with Ho:YAG laser was safe,effective without complication.
