Abstract
A case study in which progestin-induced pseudopregnancy exhibited a syndrome similar to severe toxemia of pregnancy is presented. A women with a history of endometriosis was treated for the condition with 10 mg norethynodrel daily which was gradually increased to 40 mg a day. Blotchy chloasma of pregnancy and an enlarged uterus were exhibited about 6 months after treatment began. A normal recovery followed panhysterectomy. It is suggested that short-term routine administration of the drug can facilitate the surgical treatment of endometriosis.
