Abstract

Objective: To study the expression of E-cad and MMP-2 in human adenomyosis and to explore the correlation between the expression and pathogenesis of human adenomyosis. Methods: Immunohistochemical S-P method was employed to detect the expression of E-cad and MMP-2 in 30 specimens of ectopic endometrium, eutopic endometrium of adenomyosis and 16 specimens of normal endometrium. Results: The expression of E-cad in ectopic and eutopic endometrium of adenomyosis were significantly lower than those of normal endometrium(P0.01,P0.05).The expression of MMP-2 in ectopic endometrium of adenomyosis were significantly higher than those of eutopic endometrium of adenomyosis and normal endometrium(P0.01,P0.01).Conclusion: The abnormal expression of E-cad and MMP-2 might be correlated with the pathogenesis of human adenomyosis.
