Conservative surgery combined with little dose Mifepristone in treatment of moderate or severe endometriosis

Objective:To evaluate the efficiency of little dose Mifepristone in treatment of moderate or severe endometriosis after conservative surgery.Methods:Women with moderate or severe endometriosis after conservative surgery were analyzed,the group of little dose Mifepristone compared with the group of GnRH-a and control group.Results:Both little dose Mifepristone group and GnRH-a group achieved similar significant relief of pelvic symptoms and signs(78% and 90%)compared with the control group(P0.01).The cumulative recurrence rates of little dose Mifepristone group and GnRH-a group were 10% and 5%,significantly lower than that of the control group(P0.05).There were no significant differences between little dose Mifepristone group and GnRH-a group(P0.05).Serum estradiol(E_2) level was significantly reduced in both little dose Mifepristone group and GnRH-a group,but serum E_2 was maintained at the level of early or moderate follicular phase in little dose Mifepristone group and menopause phase level in the GnRH-a.group.Conclusion:Little dose Mifepristone seems to be an effective,safe and convenient treatment for endometriosis with low-cost,good compliance and few side effects.
