Endometriosis and female infertility

Patients with endometriosis typically present pelvic pain, adnexal mass, and about 30%～50% of them are complicated with secondary infertility. In this paper we reviewed such problems as probable biological mechanism by which endometriosis is associated with female infertility; the successful rate of pregnancy when patients received the aid of assisted reproductive techniques (ART), and whether the surgery in early stage of the disease influences the outcome of ART.
