Abstract
A wireless ad hoc network paves way for many real time applications. Delay consideration over the transmission is the critical part of research which helps better packet delivery. Over the wireless medium interference is the common phenomenon which significantly reduces the performance and life time of the network. In this research work, delay reduction is focused along with minimizing interference in wireless ad hoc network scenario. The proposed protocol is termed as interference minimized delay reduction-based routing protocol (IMDRRP). Minimum interference, average interference and route interference are estimated. After that single – hop topology is constructed and then delay constrained spanning tree mechanisms are used. IMDRRP is evaluated for performance in terms of throughput, average energy consumption and delay. From the simulation results, it is inferred that, IMDRRP performs better with the chosen compared protocols.
