Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of mifepristone and gestrinone in treatment of patients with endometriosis after operation. Methods:One hundred and thirty-eight cases with endometriosis were randomly divided into three groups:Forty-six cases in mifepristone(12.5 mg/d) group,46 cases in gestrione(2.5 mg,twice a week) group, the treatment in these two groups was started at one week after the operation for 6 months and other 46 cases were in control group(without drug treatment),all of them were regularly followed-up.Results:The remission of symptoms of dysmenorrhoea in varying degree were seen in patients of these 3 groups. The complete remission rates in patients of mifepristone and gestrinone groups were significantly higher than of control group(P0.01).The recurrence rates in mifepristone and gestrinone groups were significantly lower than of control group(P0.01).Conclusions:The consolidation therapy with mifepristone and gestrinone for post-operation treatment of endometriosis is safe and effective with less adverse reactions.
