Abstract
There were examined 60 women of reproductive age with adenomyosis for 1.5 years during treatment with a combined oral contraceptive containing 30 μg of ethinyl estradiol and 2 mg of dienogest in a prolonged regimen. Evaluation of the results of color Doppler mapping (CDC) of the myometrium revealed an initial increase in blood flow in the areas of heterotopias in the myometrium. The effectiveness of the treatment is confirmed by a decrease in the number of blood flow loci in the myometrium by 45% or more. The persistent elevated level of myometrial vascularization in 10% of women according to the CDC can be used as a predictor of the failure of long-term steroid therapy in patients with adenomyosis.
