Abstract

Objective To assess the clinical efficacy of laparoscopic excision of adenomyomas and ligation of bilateral uterine arteries with titanium clips for the treatment of adenomyosis. Methods 67 patients with adenomyomas were randomized into two groups in the Zhengshan City Peoples' Hospital from Feb.2006 to Feb,2008.Combined operation group:36 cases with laparoscopic excision of adenomyomas and ligation of bilateral uterine arteries with titanium clips;adenomyomas evidement group:31 cases with adenomyomas evidement. Results The remission rate of dysmenorrhea of group A was 92.3%,group B was 87.5%.The uterine volumes of group A shrink from (177±30)cm3 into (132±31)cm33 month later. The uterine volume of group B shrink from (178±35)cm3 into (158±28)cm3 3 months later. The uterine volume decreased significantly(P0.05).The amount of menstruation after operation both decreased in two groups. There was significant difference between two groups 6 months later(P0.05).Conclusion Laparoscopic excision of adenomyomas and ligation of bilateral uterine arteries with titanium clips is proved to be a new, conservative and effective therapy for adenomyosis.
