Abstract
Objective: To investigate the levels of carbohydrate antigen 125 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha( TNF-α) in serum and peritoneal fluid of patients with endometriosis, and to analyze the correlation between endometriosis and them. Methods: 52 patients with endometriosis were divided into two groups : the Ⅰ ~ Ⅱ stage patient( 21 cases) were the first group, the Ⅲ ~ Ⅳ stage patients( 31 cases) were the second group. Enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay( ELISA) was used to determine the level of TNF-αand gene chips was used to determine the level of CA125. Results: The levels of CA125and TNF-α in the serum and peritoneal fluid had no differences between the first group and the second group( P 0. 05); the levels of CA125and TNF-α in the peritoneal fluid showed a marked difference between the first group and the second group( P 0. 05); there were significantly higher levels of CA125and TNF-α in the peritoneal fluid than in the serum( P 0. 05). Conclusion: The levels of CA125and TNF-α in the serum and peritoneal fluid are closely related to endometriosis. The peritoneal fluid in monitoring of endometriosis may be more sensitive and reliable than the serum.
