Abstract

Abstract Xerogel (X-G)@polymeric nanocomposites are hybrid nanomaterials constituted of xerogels (X-Gs) synergized with polymeric materials with enclosed nanoparticulates in either physical or covalently inclined cross-linking with one another and/or with the nano-substrates. X-G@biopolymeric bionanocomposites are hybrid bionanomaterials constructed by synergizing biopolymeric matrices with dispersed organic or inorganic nanoparticulates with improved properties for multifunctional applications. Hence, this paper elucidates novel trends in synthesis, construction, characterizations, properties and multifunctional applications of X-G@polymeric nanocomposites.
