Abstract

Cancer treatment often causes significant damage to human tissue, creating an inflammatory environment that complicates post-surgical care and wound healing. Current therapeutic approaches primarily focus on either preventing cancer recurrence or restoring the function of damaged tissue. However, since tissue regeneration can significantly aid post-cancer recovery, there is an urgent need for dual-purpose materials that integrate both functions. Injectable bioimplants have emerged as a promising solution, offering localized and sustained delivery of therapeutic agents while simultaneously supporting structural tissue repair. This review highlights recent advancements in multifunctional injectable bioimplants that both inhibit tumor growth and enhance tissue regeneration. Additionally, we discuss the challenges of clinical translation and explore the future potential of AI-driven innovations to optimize their therapeutic efficacy.
