Abstract
Endometriosis (EMs) is an estrogen-dependent disease, and aromatase is the key enzyme in the biosynthesis of estrogen. In reccent years, studies showed that aromatase inhibitors (AIs) have been used effectively to treat patients with endometriosis of any age. This review aims to assess the rationale, the medical management and side effects of aromatase inhibitors in the treatment of endometriosis.
