Study on the dynamic relationship between China's economic growth and competitive sports development: Empirical analysis based on the VAR model

Economy is an important basis of sports development, and China's economic growth plays an important role in the development of competitive sports. Based on the data variables of China's economic growth and competitive sports output from 1978 to 2019, a vector autoregression model (VAR) was constructed to study the dynamic relationship between China's economic growth and competitive sports development. The results show that there is a long-term stable relationship between China's economic growth and competitive sports development, the development of GDP, per capita GDP and the tertiary industry can promote in the short term, while the financial expenditure can not change the development of competitive sports in the short term; the response between the economic growth and long-term significant positive effect; the development of the tertiary industry has the most significant contribution to competitive sports, and the contribution continues to increase.
