A Unified Theory of Psychological Types
preprint
OA: closed
Abstract
We review a recently proposed extension of Jung's theory of psychological types and show that it also subsumes the ancient doctrine of the four temperaments, the very first personality classification. We thus arrive at a fundamental theory of types which is both complete and intuitive. The crucial insight, in Jungian terms, is to consider the psychological type of the Self -- the totality of the human psyche. Along the way we make significant progress toward unifying Jung's vast opus into a coherent and mathematically structured model of the Self.(For a non-technical introduction see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jRKA-WkL5E )
