Abstract

We present a genome assembly from an individual Gobius niger (the Black Goby; Chordata; Actinopteri; Perciformes; Gobiidae). The genome sequence is 870.6 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 24 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 16.51 kilobases in length.
