Abstract

Abstract Pendap is currently the tourism potential of the Bengkulu area. However, the local wisdom of Pendap is still rarely studied. This study aims to determine Pendap as a culinary treasure typical of Bengkulu. This study uses a qualitative research design with the research subjects of Pendap producers and Bengkulu typical restaurant owners, data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. Data analysis used an interactive analysis model of data collection, reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of Pendap research have been around for a long time and are passed down from generation to generation and are often presented at community events. The treasure of Pendap can also be seen from the 8-hour cooking process, and has become a part of Bengkulu culinary. Pendap is successfully traded as a Bengkulu typical side dish because it lasts for 2 days without preservatives and for 2 weeks if packaged using a vacuum. Hopefully the results of this research can increase the understanding of people who are involved in the Bengkulu traditional culinary world to pay more attention and know about local wisdom, because few studies discuss related topics.
