Abstract
We report an easy and novel synthesis of Ba-Sn-Al-CO3 hydrotalcite (HTs) which can be used as heterogeneous basic catalyst via co-precipitation method. The HTs formation have been determined by various techniques. Basic catalyst activity has been evaluated for various reactions such as multicomponent reaction and catalytic depolymerisation process. Multicomponent synthesis of 4H-pyran derivatives (Knoevenagel condensation) was carried out and yield obtained was 95%. Moreover, production of 80% biofuel using waste plastic using catalytic depolymerisation method was also carried out. This solid base catalyst has several benefits like short reaction time, environment friendly, higher yield, easy to separate, and economical cost.
