In this study, we compiled and standardized a comprehensive wind tunnel database to quantify the relative influence of soil physical and chemical properties on erosion rate. Grey relational analysis was applied to rank soil parameters, revealing that texture-related variables exert stronger control than chemical properties. A nonlinear regression model was then developed to predict erosion rate from soil characteristics, achieving satisfactory performance for laboratory data and moderate accuracy for field conditions. In addition, a predictive triangular chart was introduced to provide a practical tool for assessing erosion risk based on soil gradation. These results highlight the dominant role of soil texture in wind erosion, demonstrate the utility of nonlinear modeling for predicting soil erodibility, and offer a simple framework for integrating soil property data into erosion risk assessments at local and regional scales. playing a central role in controlling erosion dynamics. In this study, we compiled and standardized a comprehensive wind tunnel database to quantify the relative influence of soil physical and chemical properties on erosion rate. Grey relational analysis was applied to rank soil parameters, revealing that texture-related variables exert stronger control than chemical properties. A nonlinear regression model was then developed to predict erosion rate from soil characteristics, achieving satisfactory performance for laboratory data and moderate accuracy for field conditions. In addition, a predictive triangular chart was introduced to provide a practical tool for assessing erosion risk based on soil gradation.
