Abstract

Objective:To investigate effect of Drynaria flavonoids on the expression of ovarian serum osteocalcin and bone mor-phogenetic protein-2(bone morphogenetic protein-2, BMP-2)in the female rats bone tissue.Methods:30 3-month-old female rats were randomly divided into sham operation group, treatment group and control group. The fat around the ovary was removed only in sham group, the ovaries of treatment group were removed and treated with 15 week-capsule-gavage, and the control group were treated water for equivalence.15 weeks later, all rats were sacrificed, the middle femur of rats were detected by BMP-2 immunohistochemical staining. The stained samples were scanned by microscopy camera and the samples positive rates were analysed by graphic image analysis soft-ware.The BGP of rats were detected by radiation immunological test. Results:Immunohistochemical staining and image analysis showed that bmp-2-positive rates were significantly higherin treatment group and the sham group(p0.05);BGP expressions in treated group and the sham group were significantly higher than that in the control group(p0.05).Conclusion:Drynaria flavonoids can increase expres-sion of BMP-2, and serum osteocalcin in ovariectomized rats.
