To observe the clinical effect of levonorgestrel releasing intrauterine system in treatment of adenomyosis

Objective To investigate the Mirena IUD(ING-IUS) clinical efficacy in the treatment of adenomyosis. Methods 2010 January to 2013 September in our hospital on the basis of clinical symptoms, color Doppler ultrasoundor CT confirmed the diagnosis of adenomyosis of the data of 58 patients, patients in the menstruation 3~7d is placed in the ING-IUS, the patients were observed before and after treatment, 3, 6,12 months, menstruation, dysmenorrheascores of hemoglobin, endometrium thickness, uterine volume change. Resuls After ING-IUS placement, 3 menstrual cycle 6, 12 months, the amount of dysmenorrhea score, uterine volume, endometrial thickness was significantly lower than that before treatment, the difference was statistically significant(P0.05). Conclusion ING-IUS can effectively improve the muscle in patients with uterine gland volume menstruation, menstrual pain, endometrial thickness, uterine volume and other clinical symptoms, treatment effect of safe, reliable, worthy of clinical application.
