Abstract

Objective To evaluate the inhibiting effect of Kaiyuan granules on ectopic endometrial implants in rats. Methods Endometriosis models in rats were developed by surgical operations.Rats were sacrificed;volumes and pathological changes of endometrial transplant were observed after 2 weeks of treatments with Kaiyuan granules. Results Transplant volumes were significantly reduced in the moderate-dose and high-dose Kaiyuan granules group.Histologic examination of the explants showed an atrophy of epithelium and a decrease of endometrial glands. Conclusions The growth of ectopic endometrium can be inhibited with a moderate or high dose Kaiyuan granules.
